Donna's Personal Experience with Wheatgrass
Over 10 years ago I was living in a very small apartment with my then, 5 yr old daughter. She was only living with me half the week. At the time, I had wheatgrass growing in the apartment(probably a small tray), and I was juicing, if I can remember right, about once a day.
One day in the winter, my gas heater, shut off unexpectedly. When the gas company looked at it, they informed me that the heater's outside vent had come loose and was venting carbon monoxide into the apartment. There was a substantial burn in the carpet and floor behind the unit proving that it had been loose for quite some time. I most definitely would've had more serious complications had I not had extra oxygen in the air from the wheatgrass. And add to that the benefit of drinking wheatgrass, which is rich in chlorophyll, and it increases hemoglobin production, thereby minimizing the effect of carbon monoxide. My daughter, however, had she been in the apartment as much as I had, and because of her size, would have most certainly suffered some ill effect of the gas.
Another story...
About 4 years ago, I was
juicing grass twice a day. Just for general health. I have been in
the cleaning business for quite some time and have breathed in, I'm
sure, many toxic substances. About the second week into it, I
started expelling mucous that was yellow in color and smelled like a
common household cleaner that I was consistently using and I'm sure
most of you use on a weekly basis. Well, that said a lot to me and I
hope it does to you too.

juicing yourself. Your own personal experience is really the one
that matters.
What I've come to learn: From Donna
- When people stop listening, you need to stop talking.
- It's not about what you could've or should've done. It's about what are you going to do NOW.
- It's also not about what the other person did, but again, what you are going to do NOW.
- There is something to learn in every situation, every person and every moment.
- Work can be fun and you can make money having fun.
- People CAN change
- Food in your life can be important….Life in your food is essential.
- “Instinct guided creatures, left to themselves, do not make mistakes” (ok, so Anne Wigmore's Grandmother said that one and my brother, Michael, taught me that one).
- To trust my intuition
- To live with intention
- A cat can teach you unconditional love
- You don't always have to be an “A” student
- You don't have to sit in Lotus to meditate
- People come into your life for a reason….and they leave for a reason too.
- You can live without a TV in your bedroom. Who knew?
- It will happen when it happens
